N of course is for Nurse. R is for Registered-which generally refers to a LICENSE that can only be obtained through passing a grueling exam called the NCLEX. I sat for said test on Monday and emerged 3 hours later with my eyes glazed over and my stomach in knots. I was certain I had failed-I didn’t feel sure about any of the 265 questions that I had answered. Well, by some miracle I did not fail, and was granted my license today. I am official… and relieved. I believe I will buy some rocky road tonight to celebrate!
