Oh, this shirt has been a favorite for years…too many years. It may very well have been the first purchase I ever made at anthropologie! That would have been, what…when did they come to Salt Lake…in 2001? Well, for however long, I’ve loved the simple cut, just-pretty-enough lace neckline and tiny butterfly sleeves.
In the last couple years, I’ve needed a little more sleeve coverage, so this top turned into a winter shirt that I would layer over sheer turtlenecks and the like. Well, it was time to make a change. Change for the better/wear more often!
I cut the bottom six inches off of the bodice to be able to create new, just-long-enough sleeves. Then, rather than wear a midriff, I added on a lightweight chambray skirt with a drawstring at the waist and pockets at the side seams!! Every skirt and dress should have pockets if you ask me!
Now it’s not only simple and pretty, but comfortable and easy to pull on for a quick whole outfit! I love love summer dresses, and this one has just made me very happy. We’re new friends:)

So cute! I want one of these…
You are so talented. I can't sew, don't even have a machine,
but I have been inspired to repurpose some of my family's clothes in other ways. I may have to find someone to teach me, though. I am so impressed! You are redefining "cheap and chic".:)
