My little boy is twenty…months, that is. We celebrated his milestone on Sunday evening with a botched trim that made him look sort of like a girl with a bad bob. Luckily, I pulled things together yesterday and cleaned up the mess a little bit. You can see a good before photo on this post. And the after is darling:
Still long, like I like it. Just out of the eyes a bit and cleaned up around the edges. Do you wonder how I get this wild man to sit still with scissors in hand? Strap him into his high chair in nothing but a diaper and put a bowl of trail mix with M&M’s in front of him. He dug for those chocolates for a full sixty seconds while I whirred around his mane!
And turns out he’s ambidextrous when it comes to eating chocolates! After I finished, I cleaned up the area with my trusty dust buster. Then I went ahead and vacuumed off Milo as well. He was hysterical with laughter as I sucked the stray hairs off of his arms and back.
I think he likes his new do.
Other than combing his locks, Milo is in to:
Cutting things with knives
(preferably his wooden fruit with the wooden knife, but not always!)
Helping clean up
(he finds the broom every single place we go, and at home he also vacuums, washes dishes and wipes up his messes)
(why do toddlers feel like dumping food off the plate and spreading it around the room is a good way to say “All Done!”?)
Pushing things around
(mostly his new shopping cart, push truck and fire engine…but also chairs and tables on occasion)
Sitting on the potty
(though not actually going on the potty, yet…)
(some toys and books, but mostly his food)
(he was spoiled with three little ones during the Holiday break, and talks about them all the time)
Singing and dancing
(he is hilarious and has some smooth moves)
(new words are coming every day now, I love the peek into his little mind and am anxious for more!)
He also knows that there is a “baby” in my tummy, which translates into him thinking that what was previously “belly button” is now “baby” and that everybody has one! I am excited for him to be a big older brother…he’s going to be great!
