Last night I took Eliot on a little date up to Pyramid Atlantic for Letterpress Happy Hour. I printed the first color of his announcement way back in May, knowing that it would be harder to take that time once he arrived.
Of course I couldn’t finish them then because I had no idea when he would be making his debut, or how much he would weigh, etc. My announcement mock-up was pretty optimistic, though. I had hand written “June 15th, 2011″ as his birthday, and “7 pounds 1 ounce” as his birthweight. Little did I expect his late arrival!
It was really fun to be back in the printshop, chatting with letterpress friends and realizing that my hobbies can still be hobbies, even with two kids and little time. I guess if you love something, you make time.
So, now the details of the birth are set in type, and I am ready to finish printing. I’ll get to it sometime in August. That’s not too late to send them, right? I have a couple month’s leeway?

Personally I think you have a couple of months leeway to even decide whether you're going to get dressed each day!
