It’s almost Halloween! Okay, I know we’re just in September, but I’ve had the Halloween bug since July because that’s about when I began sewing custom costumes this year! Last year I made a bunch of custom costumes: Clementine, Vampire Bride, Annie and more Annie, Batman, Monkey, Bird, Dorothy, and Olivia the Pig.
I had planned on posting a call for costume orders about now, but as things turn out, I have filled my sewing schedule and even begun a little waiting list (to maintain my sanity, family relationships and sleep!) I want to make sure I have enough time to give each costume the detail they deserve, and get them shipped on time. This year, my orders aren’t quite so varied as last year…
This year I am single handedly bringing Olivia the Pig to the Halloween Masses.
I’ve been turning a pile of this:

Luckily, I love making this costume and am not yet sick of the sassy little oinker. I think it’s a little funny that, since I don’t have girls, I don’t even own an Olivia the Pig book! And, my sister thinks it’s hilarious that this sailor dress is so popular, because Olivia actually only is wearing it on the cover of the books…she’s usually not dressed at all!
I do have a couple other fun custom orders scheduled that will be a fun change from the black, white and red-all-over. Not to mention that my two boys need costumes, too, and will most assuredly not be Olivia:)

Where are you taking orders? I tried emailing you through facebook a month ago but I wasn't sure if you were doing costumes. I'm sure you are all booked up but if you can squeeze out one more Olivia in a 4T/5T please please let me know on facebook because Reece thinks that's what she is going to be but the ones online are TERRIBLE and with another move approaching fast there's no way I can do it.

My 2.5 year old daughter loves the "yellow guys" – Minions from Despicable Me, so I'm making her a minion costume. It will actually be really easy; I'm almost disapointed there's not more sewing…

Good job Mand!! I love that you're bringing Olivia to the masses:) haha. I'm going to sell mine, but can't remember how much we decided to trade for? What are you charging for your orders? If you have someone who needs one for a 2 or 3 year old and you don't have any more time to make one you can refer them to me- as you know, it wasn't even worn
