You know, like eating the gingerbread before it’s put together?!
After just a couple bites, were able to peel the roof away from him and get it on the house. I got our kit at Trader Joe’s (let’s be honest, that’s where I get almost everything…) and it was this cool A-frame that reminded me of my parent’s cabin in Midway. And it was easier to put together with the roof touching the ground (notice small bite on bottom)! I helped make dots of frosting, then Milo added the candy. “One for the roof, one for my mouth, one for the roof…” sort of like that.
And it lasted about two hours until all of the candies (and some of the cookies) were eaten up. I finally tossed it in the garbage to stop the nibbling. Next year we’ll do it after dinner instead of after breakfast, then we can just plan on it being dessert!
Do you make a gingerbread house each year? Do you keep it around for decoration or eat it?
