Wow. These last nine months since Eliot was born went a lot faster than those long nine months before he was born! I have been excited about making this little video of outtakes since day one of Project Baby. It only took a normal gestational period for me get around to actually creating it:) Looking back to those pregnant days makes me appreciate some of the little things that are easy to take for granted. Like my ankles. And tying my shoes. And sleeping on my belly.
The little man was worth every ache and pound, though. He is gentle, curious, and happy.
I think Eliot inherited Dave’s easy going nature (and Milo’s wild endless energy comes from….um…eh hem.) Whether our days are exciting or more relaxed, he goes with the flow. He is getting more mobile as his curiosity forces him from his sitting position onto all fours, and then spread eagle onto the floor reaching for whatever toy, snack, or stick is inches in front of him. I think it won’t be long before he gets the hang of crawling, and then I’m in trouble. I’ve really loved having him sit quietly playing. It will be fun for him to get to play more interactively with his brother, though. I think they will be great friends.
I love the snuggle time I get with Baby Eliot when I nurse him. I feel so blessed to have those little breaks throughout the day that I am stuck just sitting and holding his soft, warm, little body as he grabs at my necklace and smiles wet smiles at my face. It’s an intimate time that I will try to hang on to for at least a few more months. Other than milk, this boy is a great eater, and we sort of skipped over baby food in about one week and went straight to small pieces of our meals (both for convenience, and because he eats it well!) Now he pretty much eats by himself, which makes a huge mess, but makes me really happy. It’s adorable.
Motherhood is a joy. It’s also the hardest thing I’ve ever done.
I’m happy for nine delightful months with Baby Eliot. Here’s to many many more!

Im in love with this video, I seriously started crying! Loved every minute.
Thank you! It makes me cry, too! Pregnancy is such a tender time, and then to hold the baby in my arms…simply heaven.
Too sweet! Makes me want to be pregnant again! What song did you use? I loved it!
The song is “Snails” by The Format. I first heard it on my friend Cassi’s website sassaart.com and knew it was perfect for this!
Miranda, that was way too precious! And you are for sure the cutest pregnant person I’ve ever seen! You have an adorable brood of boys and I am pretty sure you are super woman!! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you…and by “cutest” I think you mean “makes the widest variety of enthusiastic facial expressions”
That turned out wonderful. I love it.
LOVED THIS!!!!
Made me tear up…. Also made me think “whaaaaaat??? I´ve been following this blog for almost 2 years!!!” Well, kids have a way of showing us that time really is going by.
Congrats on the beautiful family. Your boys always make me smile at the screen.
Beautiful little movie!
I loved the video. Made me cry for an hour. Great idea. What program did u use to put it together?
Hi there Sara! I used iMovie to put together the video. It’s made up completely of the outtake still photographs that we took during the maternity series, and I just had to time them to the music. I’m so happy with how it turned out. Makes me cry, too:)
I can’t believe Eliot is already 9 months old and I hardly know him! Can’t wait for your visit in July!
I love the video so sweet and I have always loved The Format good choice. Miss you guys.
Miss you, too! I’ve got to call you this week. xoxo
