The boys and I hop on a plane in just a couple hours to head home. We have had such a fun time in Utah, though the trip was a lot different than I had planned. I had intended to spend my weekend away at the Sewing Summit, and then spend a week with my family hanging out! Instead, I spend most of this week humming away at my mother’s sewing machines until the early morning hours, trying to complete my Halloween orders in time. Bad planning on my end, and I may have made some of my family feel bad with my lack of involvement. Luckily, though, I did get eight of my nine costumes finished and sent. I always tell myself I’ll plan ahead, then I always get so behind! Still working on it, I guess…like a lot of things.
The Sewing Summit was awesome, and I can’t wait to get home and go through all of my photos (and my swag!) While I was downtown for four nights at the conference, my sister watched my boys. She has four of her own, two with similar ages to mine, so they just joined the party! This week, I got to return the favor on one day (it was meant to be more, but her mother in law jumped in an offered to take them a couple more.) I’ll tell you, there is nothing quite like seeing your kids play with their cousins! Milo and Eliot were in absolute heaven! After running around dropping them off and picking them up at their different schools all morning, I even got up the courage to haul all six kids, ages 7, 5, 3, 3, 1 and 1 to the park. And then to get frozen yogurt. And then to dinner at Cafe Rio… I might have pushed my luck with that last one. It got a little crazy!
We sure love our family and miss them when we’re away. I am excited to get home and back in a little bit of a routine though. And I can’t wait to see Dave! Ten days is a long time away.
And I want a minivan.
Catch you on the flip side! Have a great weekend.
xo
ps The above photos were an attempt at a cousins photo with all of my parent’s grandkids. You can see it went smashingly (especially after Milo got a punch to the face and left the photo crying…oh, the adventure!)

Hope you have a great day!
it always makes me feel better to see other people’s “real” family photo ops and not just the one perfect shot!
Right? Rest assured that behind every okay one of my little family, there are hundreds of outtakes:)
How fun! Found you from Oh, Sweet Joy.
it was so fun to see you at cafe rio, even if it was at the point of chaos!
thanks for calling me. next time, i’ll do my best to not have my kids have a tantrum as we’re walking out the door so we’ll be more on time.
